Judgement Day

Here's a Berkeley character for you! This guy has been passing out flyers that say the Christian "Judgement Day" will occur on May 21, 2011.

He has done this on U.C. Berkeley's campus just about every day since we moved here. He always wears this shirt, so regardless of what his real name may be, we call him "Yoshua." Yoshua and his group have a website, an AM radio slot, and billboard advertisements you might have seen if you've been in Northern California recently. This bunch previously predicted Judgement Day would be in 1994, but apparently they just miscalculated.

I took this picture of Yoshua about 22 days ago, so...

We've got 10 days, people!

We must start asking ourselves some tough and scary questions. To start, have we been good people?  If not, what will we eat?  Will this be a zombie apocalypse? And will we survive if it is? Should this change my plan to do our laundry this week?

Actually, that last question fills me with a bit of hope. No more laundry...if nothing else, thanks for that very pleasant thought, Yoshua.

I hope you all make the most of your next ten days, and every day after that!
